BUTCHER

GATES FARM SHOP

We are a family run, traditional butchers with a multi-site network of shops, is looking for skilled Retail Butchers for their brand new site located in a well established, “high end” garden centre.

Working within a small team of butchers and butchery assistants, the successful candidate will have strong knife skills and be confident in their ability to Bone, Cut, Tie and Portion Control. You will also be customer focussed with strong sales skills and an enthusiasm for driving sales whilst delivering exceptional levels of customer service.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Self-motivated and Passionate
  • Boasts strong demonstrable experience in all aspects of butchery
  • Able to Break down Carcasses, Bone and Cut multi species to a high standard
  • Customer Driven with outstanding customer service skills – confident offering guidance and advice – making sure customers leave with the product they want, know where it has come from and are able to prepare it when they get home
  • Able to follow the strict HACCP hygiene system, stock control and waste management procedures
  • Applicants should have a proven track record of work in a similar environment, and a real enthusiasm for food.

This is a full-time position, days only (working 5 days from 7). Opening Hours to be confirmed but likely to be between 0800 – 1730 Monday – Saturday, 0900 – 1700 Sunday with the possibility of extended opening hours in the evening.

DELI SUPERVISOR/MANAGER

BECKWORTH EMPORIUM MEARS ASHBY

We are looking for an ambitious and talented Deli Supervisor to take responsibility for the Delicatessen department within our busy concession at Beckworth Emporium

The delicatessen offers will include: award-winning pork and specialities pies, over 100 deli cheeses, cooked meats, ready meals and other in house made items.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage a small team of delicatessen assistants – leading by example and providing ongoing training and motivation to staff to deliver excellent levels of customer service.
  • Deliver an outstanding experience to all customers.
  • Help prepare counter displays – focusing on abundance and visual beauty.
  • All due diligence – health and safety, food safety etc.
  • Play an active role in store set up and close down.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous Management Experience – ideally gained in a (food led) Retail Environment, Quick Service Restaurant or Contract Caterer.
  • Uncompromisingly high standards of customer service, visual merchandising and cleanliness
  • High Standards with an Aesthetic “eye for detail” to ensure that the food display looks amazing all the time.
  • Structured and organised
  • A “Foodie” – passionate about food, keen to learn about products, combinations and pairings and able to pass on knowledge confidently.
  • Candidates must be over 18 years old (in order to comply with regulations regarding equipment usage)

PRODUCTION OPERATIVE

HEAD OFFICE OAKHAM

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Production Operative to join a small but motivated team working from a busy production kitchen in Oakham. Reporting to the Production Manager you will help produce the businesses award-winning handmade shortcrust pies, sausages, sausage rolls, pasties and ready meals.  Finished products will be distributed through the businesses own network of farm shops (and a select group of other stockists).

The Opportunity

The successful applicant will be flexible to undertake a range of food preparation tasks, from preparing sausages, making pastry goods, producing ready meals, labelling, cleaning and hygiene tasks, completing production documentation, packing and the despatch of orders to stores. You may also be tasked with driving the delivery van.

There is some manual lifting required, such as trays of baked goods.

The production kitchen is open Monday to Friday, Roughly 0600-1600hrs. It is expected that the working hours will be 47.5hours a week over 5 days (Monday to Friday).

The Requirements

  • Able to follow instructions and work to consistently high standards
  • Adaptable with a positive attitude to work – even if some tasks might be repetitive

  • Previous experience in food production, production kitchen, catering or related role would be an advantage (as would a Food Hygiene qualification) but this is not essential as training will be provided.
  • Full Driving License.

DELI ASSISTANT

The product offering includes a large selection of handmade pies, cooked meats, scotch eggs, olives and charcuterie. Cheese counters are stocked with local, national and internationally sourced cheeses from only the finest producers.
Reporting into the Store Manager, this candidate will be a vital member of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver an outstanding experience to all customers.
  • Help enable butchery and delicatessen sales delivery (Cheese, Charcuterie & Food to Go)
  • Pro-actively upsell, on sale and cross-sell to meet and exceed weekly sales incentive targets.
  • Help prepare counter displays – focusing on abundance and visual beauty.
  • Play an active role in store set up and close down.
  • Achieve sales & wastage targets

Essential Skills & Experience
We are looking for someone who:

• Is uncompromising in terms of high standards of customer service, visual merchandising and cleanliness
• Thrives in a busy environment
• Previous experience in a Retail Assistant role. Previous experience within a deli counter environment (sales, cooking/baking, cutting) would be an advantage.
• Candidates must be over 18 years old (in order to comply with regulations re equipment usage)

Days / Hours of work:
5 DAYS A WEEK TO INCLUDE A DAY AT THE WEEKEND. 40 HOURS ON A ROTA BASIS

The successful candidate will be joining a multi-site multi-award winning family business with an excellent reputation in their sector. In return for meeting the above criteria, the Deli Assistant will be rewarded with a competitive hourly rate (remuneration dependant on skills and experience). Full training will be given, a uniform will be provided and there is the potential for extra hours if required.
